The PTC-IIex is the best value for money, and the most robust beginners model for all digital operating modes via standard amateur and marine radio equipment. It is thus the worlds most widely used modem for professional and sport shipping. With the PTC-IIex, shortwave equipment may be used for the transmission of E-mails and for the reception of weather forecasts and NAVTEX. Together with the usually available GPS receiver, the PTC-IIex can be used for the automatic transmission of postion reports. In addition to the strong aluminium case, the thorough filtering of all inputs and outputs ensures interference free operation, even under difficult conditions.
