The PACTOR based e-mail system is very easy to understand. The SSB radio receives and sends the data, the PACTOR modem connects your laptop computer to the service provider.

The widely used software Airmail is available as freeware. When you first start Airmail, you will feel like home. Inbox, outbox, send button. An easy program similar to Outlook or other programs like Hotmail, Yahoo etc.

Important: The PACTOR system provides NO internet connection. Only e-mail is possible, but worldwide, wherever you are.
Within these limits you have a lot more useful services with the
system. Weather charts on demand for your personal position, passage
and trip, a weather ticker from the most popular services on the world,
weather fax, broadcast receiving or individual consultation.

You can also connect the modem with your GPS for APRS, a position tracking and reporting system. Familiy and friends are now able to see your trip in the internet with maps and satellite photos.

For special requirements you can even setup your own network depending on the frequency regulations of the country you want to run the network in. With the newest PTC-IInet modem, you only need to connect the modem to a DSL Internet provider, connect it to a radio and setup your own dial-in access point.
